Hello from the other side

Standing on one side of the water, Jesus said,"Let us go to the other side".So they get into the boat and cast off.It should be noted, experienced fishermen were on board.Being out on the water would be thought of as  a homecoming of sorts for them.It was evening so this adds to the backdrop, it grows increasingly darker with every drop of sand in the hour glass.A great storm of wind arose causing waves to beat into the boat.Let's look at the KJV use of the word "into",wanting us to feel the change of direction and the leaning of the boat to absorb the impact ,the loss of footing by those standing,causing wonder of the soundness of the craft and ,the amazement  that just a few moments ago it was calm.That thought vanishes with another and then another crashing wave "into" the boat hull and into the mind and emotions and even the will of those experiencing this great storm of wind and waves.The expectations of the trip are replaced with uncertainty.As other waves crash into the boat and hands reach for something to hold onto.With tempest blowing and waves running into the boat it begins to fill with water.The only thing worse than fire on a boat is to see that it's taking on water.Like a plane losing lift,the craft has lost the effective harness of the wind to propel the boat forward so they for all intense and purposes are adrift in the water at the mercy of the great wind and waves,add to this,a boat losing the integrity of the water staying outside of the hull this spells trouble.
Nothing better than a good God nap.Resting in the promises of God.The problem with this picture of Jesus asleep in the hinder part of the ship is that no one else is resting.And as you already know, their unrest will eventually try to take your rest.Their fear will try all doors to see if they are locked.When a team enters a game they win or lose as a team.The same applies with a boat.So if the integrity of the trip changes and those in the boat lose sight of the purpose of the trip.And you are brought out of sleep by a type of chaos.Because he carried the events differently than they,"Don't you CARE! we are perishing?" The thing is most of us has never had this times twelve.Twelve voices saying panicked words of fear and doom

.Frankness of faith needs to be seen here.Jesus arose just as the great wind arose and he rebuked it.Notice he spoke peace to the sea.The great wind is the trouble maker, the sea is subject to the power of the wind, so one gets rebuke and the other gets peace be still.But the man's part (as played by God in the person of Jesus Christ) was to arise and speak.When he did the great wind ceased and great calm replaced the commotion.
And now I will say to you reader that you are right now in the boat with Jesus.He has communicated his intent, We are going to the other side, the victory side, the eternal life side, all family are included in the promise."Why are you fearful?If fearful your not being faithful.And as they traveled they wondered what kind of man this is,...and they came to the other side.
